In one of our recent projects on the Volvo FH headlamp, several of the plastic mounting clips , originally made of PA , were broken, and no replacement parts were available in the market. To restore the headlamp, we reverse-engineered the clip, redesigned the internal geometry, and produced the final part using a resin 3D printer. For fabrication, we selected an engineering-grade resin with mechanical properties close to the original PA component to ensure proper functionality and durability.

When creating a design for something like a plastic part with insert molded components, I have in the past used a structure like the one shown here, where the 3Dshape for the plastic part lives in a physical product and it includes parts within it. The issue I am having, is that I am now unable to calculate the mass in BI essentials of the 3DShape for the plastic part. How do I make the mass on 3D shape calculate appropriately?

Hello community, I have a customer using the Surface texture symbol in CATIA V5-6 R2024 SP3. There is a bug when the symbol is inverted, the text is inverted as well (unreadable). Hello everyone! I received this 3D model of a component. I have issues with the IDC_Piastra per top vetro, a boomerang shaped component. The issue is that a symmetry element appears in BOM. That's because it is outside of the 3D Shape...everything oustide the 3D shape is considered part of a BOM. Is there a way to move that "Grano Filettato M5 L30 MM" inside the 3D shape? For this stage of the project: The part was modeled from mesh data by Alireza Nouri, And I handled the complete mold design and project management from design to manufacturing. This mold was designed with an 8-cavity layout and an ejector plate system, using PP Z30S as the part material. What I've done is: Create new 3DShape > publish the partbody > use "Save with options" function.
