CATIA Buildings & Infrastructure
Building the US DEMO in CATIA
We at General Physics, www.generalphysicscorp.com, want to build a fusion power plant. To meet the demand of 2050 with carbon free power we need 1160 GW of power or roughly 900 power plants of 1000 MW each globally. We can do this by building stellarator tokamak hybrids with pixelated magnetic feedback from Hall effect sensors. Plasma shaping. We want to get CATIA and PINNs to design this with MCP integrating MD and PIC FEM models. Check out our blog posts at www.generalphysicscorp.com
🚧UPDATE🚧 Customer Workshop 2026-wk24 in Dassault Systèmes Vélizy
Hello, We are glad to organize the 2026 CATIA Construction R&D Workshop. Considering the other event 'AEC Global Summit' planned wk24 (June 8th to 12th) in DS HQ at Vélizy, we have decided to merge the events to avoid redundancies, agenda conflicts and over travels. Thus, the workshop will be held in Dassault Systèmes HQ at Vélizy from June 8th to 12th. Content remains the same but is adapted to a shorter timeframe. You will be able to participate to more events, conferences and enjoy 3DS

How do I set a material so that I can see IfcMaterialProfileSet and IfcMaterialLayerSet when exported as IFC?
Hello dear Catia Building & Infrastructure Community, I am once again asking for your help. I need to know where I can find these Psets in the platform: Material Profile Set for aluminium and steel, and Material Layer Set for layered glass I made a mock up of an AEC Member object and applied a dummy material to it, but I can't see its material properties once exported as IFC. Is it because the material is just...a core material and not a construction material or engineering material (like

What are these "types" for?
Hello dear CATIA Buildings&Infrastructure community, I am so sorry to bother you like this but I need some help to better understand how to use this software and to improve my skills. From Maintenance to Design: Bearing Couplings CATIA Design for PHC Pile Spinning Machines, Samuda Construction Limited, T.K. Group, Bangladesh
During my work experience in PHC Pile machine maintenance, I realized that effective maintenance is not only about repairing faults—it often demands engineering design decisions to improve machine reliability and performance. One such critical responsibility was the design and modification of bearing couplings for spinning machines used in PHC pile production. Spinning machines in PHC pile plants operate under high rotational speed, heavy load, continuous duty cycles, and harsh site conditions.
Building Foundation Excavation
Find here below a workflow to get excavation quantities for the foundations of a building. As input, we have a terrain (LIDAR point cloud) and got the ifc of a building. First steps requires extract or multi-extract of the bottom faces of the pillars, footings and slab that will define the contour of the excavation. Then, thanks to Component Based Design, we apply in one operation an excavation template to all those surfaces. This template is driven by parameters defining the downward and side
