I want to calculate the von Mises stress of a disk. How should the boundary conditions be applied relative to the hub shaft to obtain accurate results? Currently, the theoretical value is about 360 MPa, but the simulation result shows 235 MPa. What kind of boundary conditions should be applied?
Initial Conditions
I have performed a 3D dynamic/explicit simulation of single-grit grinding on a 300 µm workpiece (time period = 0.009875 s). At t = 0.00252 s, I intend to extract the stress, strain, and temperature fields from the hatched (yellow) 100 µm region and use them as initial conditions for another single-grit grinding simulation on a 100 µm workpiece. material properties, grit geometry, and element type(C3D8RT, for workpiece) are the same. How can I do this? And what are the ways to do this? (Grit

In addition to making communication inside and outside the cabin difficult, noise from fans can also increase operator fatigue. Our Lattice Boltzmann approaches leverage their weakly dissipative formulation to capture acoustic pressure fluctuations directly in the CFD solution pressure field. These simulation results can be

CST - How to Replicate a Battery Management System (BMS) in Software for EMI/EMC Simulation?
Hi everyone, I have a question related to EMI/EMC simulation for a Battery Management System (BMS). For most components, we usually use SPICE models (for MOSFETs and power devices), S-parameters (for RF or passive components), or IBIS (for digital ICs). But I wanted to understand — how can we replicate or simulate a complete BMS in software for EMI/EMC analysis before hardware testing? Are there any reference workflows or example projects that demonstrate this type of EMI/EMC setup? Any
shell element on abaqus
Good evening, everyone! I am just getting started with Abaqus. I had fun designing a pipe in three configurations available in Abaqus: top surface (d=406.4 mm), bottom surface (d=355.8 mm), and middle surface (d=381 mm) with a thickness of 25.4 mm. Strangely, I ended up with three different masses for the same pipe. Only the mass from the middle surface configuration is equal to the one calculated manually. But the question I'm asking myself is why the three configurations do not have the same
Unexpected allocation request that exceeds 2GB
When I use Abaqus2017 to calculate a 3GB inp file,it said Unexpected allocation request that exceeds 2GB, yet memory in my computer is 576GB,and i've allocate 500GB for this job. However, when I use abaqus2024, job has been calculated successfully
Combining Results from Multiple Output Databases files
Godd morning, I would like to combine the results from two or more output databases (.odb files). I tried to follow the procedure described in the manual (Plug-ins → Tools → Combine ODBs; Primary ODB and then Add ODBs), but the combined ODB file that is created contains two or more overlapping models, where I can view the results simultaneously but not their combination. Did I do something wrong, or am I missing any steps?

New 3DEXPERIENCE Example: Injection Molding Simulation of a Thermoset Rubber Gasket
As part of the R2025x FD03 User Assistance, SIMULIA R&D created a new 3DEXPERIENCE example that teaches you how to perform an injection molding simulation of a thermoset rubber gasket to assess the gasket’s curing state. Gaskets designed as seals are often made from thermosets, a class of materials distinct from thermoplastics. Unlike thermoplastics, thermosets undergo an irreversible chemical curing process, typically catalyzed by heat, radiation, or chemical additives. The simulation uses
The stress relaxation behaviour of elastomer under the static step and vicosity step ?
Hello, Everyone Recently I met one confused question while doing the stress relasation analysis of elastomers. It is observed that the elastomer with prony series under static step show the higher stiffness than the elastomer without prony series. Below is the comparison of their contact force at Y dirction. But the result changed when I change the step setting from the static to vicosity step. Meanwhile the time period is defined to 10000 s. I found that the value under vicosity step is

Predict crack direction in an IM short fibre composite
Respected friends, I am working with an injection-molded composite containing short fibers (i.e., the fibers are not continuous and do not extend from end to end). Due to the non-uniform fiber distribution, the material exhibits spatially varying properties, making the structure quite complex. I have an initial crack in the model and would like to predict the probable crack propagation path. There is no predefined path (I do not know what direction the crack may take) and am afraid I cant use
