As part of the R2026x FD01 user assistance, SIMULIA R&D created a 3DEXPERIENCE tutorial that illustrates how to create a gear joint. To simulate the rotational relationship between the gears, you first create a revolute joint for each gear to define its rotational behavior. You then create the gear joint to control the motion of one gear relative to the motion of the other gear in a mechanically accurate manner using a gear ratio that you specify. Finally, you create a driver to control the motion between the gears.
To complete this example yourself, you must have access to the Motion Analyst app. Once you have access to this app, see Creating a Gear Joint to get started.
The 3DEXPERIENCE Simulation Examples Team would like to hear your ideas for new examples. If you have an idea, please leave a comment below so that the team can contact you. The team also welcomes feedback on any of its existing examples.
