Part-5 Reliability Analysis of the Honeycomb Panel
The objective of this study so far has been to minimize the mass of the panel subject to some constraints on the stress and deflection. It is true that we need our designs to be optimized, but at the same time, we want them to be robust and reliable as well. Keeping in line with that, we now want our constraints to be met with 99.9% likelihood.
In this workshop, we will work on the optimized design from the last workshop, and evaluate the quality of the optimized design point when it is subjected to random variations in the load. We will use tools like probability distribution graphs, cumulative distribution graphs and response percentile tables to predict the success rate of the constraints being met.
