Part 4 – Optimization Study on the Honeycomb Panel
In the last workshop, we were successful in building a fairly accurate surrogate model for our honeycomb panel using the EBF technique. This will ensure that all further iterative studies on this model will solve much faster. The objective of this study is to minimize the mass of the honeycomb panel; keeping the stress and deflection of the panel within specified limits.
In this workshop, we will learn how to choose between various optimization techniques based on our objective function and design requirement. We will configure an optimization study with mass of the panel as the objective function and geometrical parameters of the honeycomb as design variables to be varied.
Post execution, we will focus on interactive results exploration using tools in Isight runtime gateway. We will examine the optimization history and design feasibility of the optimal design point suggested by Isight.
