A SIMULIA e-Learning Resource
Created using SIMULIA V6 R2013x
This is the second tutorial in the series of SIMULIA V6 ExSight R2013x tutorials. In this tutorial, you will learn how to create materials in V6.

Materials are PLM objects. There are two kinds of materials in V6,
- Core materials
- Covering materials
Core materials are used to specify constitutive behavior for simulations in V6. While core materials can be a combination of all the available material domains, the domain required for an ExSight simulation is the Simulation domain. Only one simulation domain can be associated with a core material.
Covering materials on the other hand, only specify visual characteristics; they do not influence the physical characteristics of the underlying material used in an ExSight simulation.
The files required to complete this tutorial is available in https://swym.3ds.com/#post:16612.
Tutorial video
Below is an annotated video that shows how to create and define properties for 2 core materials, rubber and steel.
