Created using SIMULIA V6R2013x
Hello everyone!
This is the first tutorial of the series of the SIMULIA V6 ExSight R2013x tutorials.

The rubber mount assembly has two components - a 1/8th model of the rubber mount and a 1/8th model of the steel plate. The rubber mount is meshed with tetrahedral elements and the steel plate is meshed with hexahedral elements.
What is the difference between a mesh and a FEM Representation?
Mesh
--A mesh is a discretization of the geometry into many geometrically simple nodes and elements.
--Necessary for a FEA program to perform a simulation.
--The number of nodes in an element will vary depending on the shape and order of the elements used.
Finite Element Model Representation
--A FEM Representation contains information about all the nodes and elements.
--The element formulation is not a part of a FEM Rep.
--The element type will be set inside ExSight before submitting the job for an analysis.
Tutorial video

Below is an annotated video that shows how to create a FE Model in V6 and mesh the assembly using tools available in the Advanced Meshing workbench.
