🟢Abaqus Error: Abaqus/CAE Kernel exited with an error

This error usually indicates that Abaqus/CAE worked but exited with an error or Abaqus/CAE crashed on startup. There can be different causes of this. Try:

1. Running Abaqus/CAE in verbose mode and looking at the contents of the output might give more details on what is going on.

In a command line shell (cmd.exe) window:

e.g. abq2022le cae –verbose 2

2. Looking at the installation logs to determine if the installation failed or is incomplete.

Contents of \CAE\2022LE\InstallData\log

e.g. c:\SIMULIA\CAE\2022LE\InstallData\log

This error can occur when you start CAE in a directory that is not writable.

e.g. in a non-admin cmd.exe shell window

·        Starting CAE in a directory that is not writable

C:\Windows\System32>which abq2023le

C:/SIMULIA/Commands/abq2023le.bat

C:\Windows\System32>abq2023le cae

IOError: abaqus.rpy: Permission denied

Abaqus Error: Abaqus/CAE Kernel exited with an error.

C:\Windows\System32>

If you start CAE from the Windows shortcuts, it should work fine.

If it does not, please contribute to tracking down this issue via the existing Swym post.
