The Share function is intended for ad hoc sharing of files; you export a copy of the design as it appears today in a standard file format and then share it through the collaboration apps 3DDrive and 3DSwym.
The Share function remains same for all the xApps (xDesign, xShape, xFrame, xDrawing, xSheetMetal and xMotion Design) which are included with SOLIDWORKS xDesign for Makers offer.
Sharing files using 3DDrive.
The Share option lets you send a copy of your model to people outside your 3DEXPERIENCE Platform. Once they have access, they can view, mark up, and add comments to the model. Currently, the files can be shared in formats: SLDXML, 3DXML, PNG, 3MF, ACIS, IGS, STEP and STL.
Sharing files on Swym Communities
For sharing your models directly in community posts, questions, ideas, or wikis, use Share in Community option. Users have an option to share 3D models or images on the Swym communities.
When sharing content in MAKERS | Made in 3D community, the option to Publish in HomeByMe appears. This option lets you share the models with the HomeByMe community.
HomeByMe is an online 3D home design application that enables users to create, furnish, and visualize interior layouts in realistic detail. Environments created in HomeByMe can be added in xApps to design and create parts in context of those environments. A demonstration of this can be viewed here: Design in the Context of HomeByMe in 3D Creator
