Some makers have reported in this MAKERS | Support community that even though the Cloud Eligibility Checker indicates that their device or environment is not supported, they are still able to run 3DEXPERIENCE SOLIDWORKS for Makers software.
Here is a select list of components that are either:
a) Known to not run 3DEXPERIENCE SOLIDWORKS for Makers software
b) Not supported but reported by some makers to successfully run 3DEXPERIENCE SOLIDWORKS for Makers software
c) Not mentioned by Cloud Eligibility Checker but known to block installation of 3DEXPERIENCE SOLIDWORKS for Makers software
Will Not Run
Mac, Windows 8, Windows 7 operating systems
The roles 3DEXPERIENCE SOLIDWORKS Professional and NC Shop Floor Programmer will be missing from the Compass, along with their apps including SOLIDWORKS Connected, SOLIDWORKS Visualize Connected and Shop Floor Machining. You can still run xDesign, xShape and other apps.
Possible workaround: Some people have reported that they installed SOLIDWORKS Connected successfully using Parallels, not Bootcamp.
Brave internet browser
3DEXPERIENCE Launcher will not run due to the error "The provided port is unreachable."
Possible workaround: Use Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge or Mozilla Firefox instead.
Might Run
Uncertified graphics cards
Some people have reported that SOLIDWORKS Connected still runs with uncertified graphics cards.
Possible workaround: If you see graphical glitches in the graphics area, close all files and try changing the following settings from the main menu > Tools > Options > Performance:
- Disable 'Enable graphics performance (requires SOLIDWORKS restart)'
- Enable 'Use software OpenGL'
Will Block Install
SentinelOne Antivirus
SentinelOne antivirus blocks requests to the 3DEXPERIENCE Launcher. When this antivirus is installed, launching SOLIDWORKS Connected results in the error "Unable to retrieve install data".
Possible workaround: Add an exception in SentinelOne antivirus for this program:
C:\\Program Files\\Dassault Systemes\\3DEXPERIENCE Launcher\\3DEXPERIENCELauncherBackbone.exe
Webroot Antivirus
In Webroot antivirus, the setting under the 'Shields' section called 'Prevent any program from modifying the HOSTs file' prevents the 3DEXPERIENCE Launcher installation from completing.
Possible workaround: Unchecking the above setting allows the 3DEXPERIENCE Launcher installation to proceed successfully.
