Create Project Template based on existing Project Space

Why

Improve project standardization and capitalize project content with project templates

How

You can now create project templates based on existing project.
To create a new template, based on existing project select the ‘Copy From…’ option, which is available in the ‘Create Project Template’ menu.
The following project’s elements will be copied to the Template:
  • Tasks and sub tasks with dependencies
  • Project Attachments (only of type Document)
  • Bookmarks and connected objects (only of type Document.)
  • Task’s Deliverables and Attachments (only of type Documen

Note: Subprojects will be excluded.

Update the Task Duration following a Change in the Task Dates

Why

Improve project planning with a new setting that allows you to control the automatic change of task duration

How

New setting is introduced at the task level , called ‘Calculate Duration’, allowing you to decide whether to change the task date or change the task duration as a result of a date change.
  • When this setting is set to ‘No’ or not set, the behavior remains as before:
    • When modifying the Task’s ‘Start Date’ the system automatically modifies the Task’s ‘End Date’ accordingly, and vise versa.
      The Task’s Duration remains constant.
  • When this setting is set to ‘Yes’,
    • When modifying the Task’s ‘Start Date’ or ‘End Date’ the system automatically modifies the Task’s Duration accordingly, and the Task’s ‘Start Date’ or ‘End Date’ remains constant.

Note: When the task is in “In work” state, changing any date will change the Duration regardless of the value of the “Calculate Duration” field.

Project Gantt Bar Enhancements

Why

Improve productivity with quick access to more information in the tooltip in Project Gantt Chart

How

Task Tooltip now includes more information when working on project in Gantt Chart view

  • When you stretch or move the task bar in the Gantt chart, the tooltip now also includes the ‘Estimated End’ date in addition to the ’Estimated Duration’ and ‘Estimated Start’ date already displayed.

New command ‘Hide/show “%Complete’ is introduced, allowing you to decide if to show or hide the % complete of the task in the task bar.

Project Gantt App includes Task Properties Panel

Why

Speed up productivity by accessing more information about tasks directly from the Gantt Chart application.

How

You can now open the Information Panel for selected Task, Gate, Phase and Milestone in the Gantt Chart application.

Support of Custom Attributes

Why

Enrich project entities semantics with custom attributes.

How

New tab ‘Custom Attributes’ is introduced, allowing you to read and edit custom attributes for the following project entity types:
  • Project Space
  • Task
  • Milestone
  • Gate
  • Risk
  • Opportunity

The new tab is available in:
  • The creation dialog, when creating a new project entity (except Custom Attributes based on Extensions with Automatic addition as false)
  • The project entity Information Panel

 Support for Passive Subtask Threshold

Why

Avoid schedule conflicts and delays by getting warnings about the possibility of passive tasks being delayed

How

Three new columns were added to the ‘Schedule Structured View’ with Passive Tasks filter:

  • Warning Level (Days) – You define the number of threshold days between the passive subtask's estimated completion date and the parent task's estimated start date.
  • Status – Displays a calculated value and an icon which helps you to identify if the passive task might be late and impact the parent project schedule:
    • The status calculated value is the number of days between the passive subtask's estimated completion date and the parent task's estimated start date.
    • The icon indicates the threshold level based on the threshold value of days that you enter in the Warning Level and the status calculated value.
      • Red icon - If the passive task’s estimated end date is after the parent task’s estimated start date and the passive task is not completed. (The status calculated value is negative)
      • Orange icon - If the status calculated value is less than the warning level value (threshold), but not negative and the passive task is not completed. In this case, a recovery is possible.
      • Green icon - If the status calculated value is bigger than the warning level value (threshold), and the passive task is not completed.
  • Criticality - You define whether the passive subtask that is within the warning level threshold is considered Minor or Major.
