Why

Accelerate bookmarking of new Engineering Items

How   

A new icon enables you to automate the bookmarking of newly created Engineering Items, in a pre-selected bookmark.

-Use the new icon “Work Under Bookmark” to select the Bookmark that will be used for new Engineering Items

-Create new Engineering Items

From now and one, any newly created Engineering Item, will automatically be bookmarked in this bookmark

(No message is displayed for this purpose)

Classification tools During Engineering Item Creation

Why

Save time by bookmarking and classification of Engineering Items directly from the creation dialogue

How

•A new tab ‘Classification tools’ is now available in ‘New Product’ dialog box.

•The ‘Classification tools’ tab allows you to define the following during the Engineering Item creation:

- Bookmarks:

Allows you to define the bookmark of the new Engineering Item

- Libraries:

Allows you to select the classification library and to classify the Engineering Item on the fly

- IP Export Control:

Allows you to define the IP Control library classes that will be used to protect the Engineering Item

Generate Report from a Template

Why

Provide necessary and valuable engineering information for downstream activities (manufacturing, sourcing etc.) without any size limit

How   

Two new commands are now available in the contextual menu, from the widget header:

-Generate reports

-View available reports

The report is generated based on a pre-defined format, such as *.XLSX.

Note:

This capability requires the following pre-requisites:

- CATIA Report Producer (RGR)

Or

- Product Engineering Specialist (XES)

- We have added a template (Json) file that you can use to create reports. See the sub wiki of this one.

Define Enterprise Item Number starting value for counter in formula

Why

Reinforce the product identification management by setting the starting values of the counters used in the Enterprise Item Number generation formulas

How   

As administrator, you can now set the counter « starting value » of the Enterprise Item Number (EIN).

This counter is based on a value of an existing attribute.

You can use the “Set Starting Counter for Authorized Values” to define the value that should be the starting value for each one of the attribute “Authorized Values”.

Hide/Show 3DShapes

Why

Reduce the complexity of the displayed product structure

How   

A new preference “Show '3DShape' in Product Structure” is now available in the widget “Preferences” to enable Show or Hide of the 3DShapes from within the product structure view.

By default, this new preference will be “checked”.

Examples:

Display Manufacturer Equivalent Item

Why

Enhance engineering and sourcing collaboration by assessing Manufacturer Equivalent Item content provided by suppliers directly from the Engineering Definition

How   

You can now add a new column “Manufacturer Equivalent Items” (MEI) to the datagrid view, to view the status of the Manufacturer Equivalent items available for the Engineering item.

This column is also available in the “Properties” panel of a selected Engineering Item,

in the tab “Manufacturer Equivalent Items”.

This column shows the following symbols:

Symbol	Meaning
	KO: No valid MEI
	First Qualification: No valid MEI and qualification process is on going on at least one another MEI
	Last Pending Obsolete: Only one MEI pending Obsolete
	Under Qualification: At least one MEI is valid, and qualification process is on going on at least one another MEI
	Pending Obsolete: At least one MEI is valid, and a second one is pending Obsolete.
	OK : At least one MEI is valid, and no qualification process is ongoing on another MEI

Note:

The creation and management of the “Manufacturer Equivalent Item” is done using the role “Supplier Item Manager (XSP)"
