Introduction

This document intended to provide a detailed guide and examples on how to manage the export of the Work Instructions using the CATIA Report Generation Application.

Version – 2023x FD04 (FP2333) & 2024x FD01 (FP2405)

Pre-requisites

Licenses – In order to execute this template successfully, user must have below licenses assigned: 

• CSV
• PPL
• PWD
• RGD
• RGR

Key Features

1. Process Details: Step by step details of Header operations, steps under header operation are exported in the output document.
2. Rolled up MBOM: Rolled up MBOM is created for implemented Mfg. items on step operations.
3. Document Attachments: Associated documents of an operation are added as an attachments. User can open them by double clicking.
4. Work Instructions linked to Views: Work Instructions can be linked to the Views for better clarification. (Refer section 6.3.4 of the Guideline document).

Examples

Below is the example of the WKI report exported using the CATIA Report Generator

In this report various pages are generated which are as given below:

Front Page (System Level) 

Front page shows information about:

1. The Workplan system (selected as input)
2. Mfg. Item. Scoped to the Workplan/General System
3. Last view of last operation (Ideally, this should be the complete product build up showing the complete 3D Model of product manufactured. Workaround is needed to make this working).

Here,

1. Process Details: This shows the information of the selected Workplan.
2. Scoped Mfg. Item Details: Shows the details of MFG item scoped with the selected Workplan.
3. Process Output: Last view on the last name. It shows the final output of the System/Workplan.

First Page (per Header Operation + first step operation below Header Operation)

This page is shown for every Header operation and the first step inside the Header operation.

Here, the information is exported as given below:

Here,

1. Operation Details: This section lists the information of header operation.
2. Associated Documents: This appears in both Operation and step section. This section contains hyperlinks for document, which are attached to the operation/step.  Double clicking on the attachment will open the document in new window.
3. Step details: Details of step(Child of Header operation)
4. Implemented Items: Mfg. Items assigned to the Step (Rolled up MBOM). Details are available in section 6.3.2 of this document.
5. Tools: Capable resources of the step.
6. Work Instruction: To export WKI, a table is created with 2 columns. 1st column contains the Work Instructions and the second column contains their relevant Views. (To link the Work Instruction to the Views, please follow the steps given in section 6.3.4 of this document). All the WKI’s available on the steps are exported one by one in the table.

Additional Pages (For remaining step operations under the header operation)

These pages are created for all remaining steps / loading operations below header operation.

How to Deploy

Here are the quick steps to deploy the proposed template:

1. Download the Deliverables.
2. Unzip the Zip file.
3. Open “Report Template Design” Application
4. Go to Preference settings -> “Report Template Design” -> “Input Types Filter” and add the “Workplan” in the “Selected Types” list from the “Available types” list if not added already. Then apply the new preference settings.
5. Import the report template “DM_DDE_WKI_EXPORT_RGN_V2_1.json” as given in section 4.1 of this document.
6. Create an Output format using the Microsoft Word Document template (DM_DDE_WKI_Output_Format_V2.docx) provided in the deliverables folder. Guidelines for this are provided in section 4.2 of this document.
7. Create a Report Object as specified in section 4.3 of this document.
8. Generate the report and download the final document.
