Select in 3D
When creating a worker task inside EWD, you have the option to chose object you want to interact with by clicking on it in 3D.
This can be useful in 3 contexts:
- When you don't remember the name of the object you wan to interact with
- When you have too many objects in the list
- When the object is not in the list
Lets see why the object wouldn't be in the list ...
Categorization
In order to be used inside a worker task, an object must be ergo categorized.
If you "select in 3D" an object that has not be ergo categorized this panel will appear.This mean that you need to categorize the object in order to use it in the worker task. If you click on "Yes" the following categorization panel will open:
With this panel, you will able to categorize your object.
You should try to find the right object category for two reasons:
- Have good grasp on you object (the grasp is influenced by the type of object)
- Create your worker task faster (the object will be added to the dropdown menu in the worker task panel)
If you have made a mistake and didn't choose the right category, no problem! You can change the object category by clicking on it in 3D. The following panel will then open:You will then be able to click on the left icon to recategorize the object.
