Issue - "Manikin" command is not shown
Hello, I'm using EEA license, and I have an issue to add Manikin. (The same problem occurs even when using EMA license) There's nothing "Manikin" command in the Setup section, and other section doesn't have it as well. (Refer to below image) So I added it to action pad, but it's not appeared in action pad too, even though obviously I add the "Manikin" Command to action pad. When I tried to run "Manikin" command through status bar, it works normally. If anybody knows what should I do in this
Ask An Ergonomist
Ergonomic Workplace Design role is aimed at helping Process Planners and Manufacturing Engineers to take key decisions in order to design Safe & Efficient Workplace. EWD users are usually non-ergonomist. Ergo4al technology provides Ergonomic guidance for non-ergonomists In some context, "in app" ergonomic guidance might not be sufficient. When the underlying ergonomic problem is complex When you are unable to right workstation design changes to decrease the level of ergonomic risk. When you

Source of Anthropometric Data in Ergonomics Manakin Editor
Hi! I am currently working whith Ergonomic Evaluation and I need to know the source of the anthropometric data for the german 50th percentile male/female. Sadly I was not able to find this information in the user assistance or on the website. If someone could point me into the right direction or even give me the exact norm these data comes from, I would greatly appreciate it. Greetings Viktoria Adams
Some questions about EWD license
Hello, Is the EWD role only applicable in a cloud environment ? Can the EWD license be used on-premise (EWD-OP) ? And should I assume that once the Ergonomic Workplace Credit Pack (EWB) runs out, I won't be able to use the EWD role anymore ?

I use the tool 'Display' to activate the body elements; however, when I check 'Segments', the lines on the mannequin's body don't appear. I don't know if this is a consequence of the latest update, and I’m not sure if there is another way to activate this function Can you help me ?
How to define manikin variables depending on joint positions
Greetings everybody, in a projekt regarding our Studies we are working with the Ergonomics Manikin Editor application. While doing so, we want to scale a person`s Manikin depending on the lengths of the measured joint distances. However, we cannot input the direct lengths we have calculated and need to resort to the list of variables given in the Human Measurements Editor application, which do not directly correspond to the data we have. While trying a variety of options we found the option to

EWK How to take advantage of simulation playback time
Hello. I am considering how to take advantage of the simulations created in Ergonomics At Work Apps. One of the things we looked at was the playback time of the simulation. However, the playback time was quite different from the actual work time. In the simulation I created, detailed tasks (such as handing out playing cards) had a large discrepancy from the actual work, while large movement tasks (moving cardboard) had a small discrepancy. ・I can change the speed on a motion basis for each

How to save time in creating simulations
Hello All, I am trying to simulate and analyze factory operations with Ergonomics At Work Apps. I am encountering two problems here and would like your input. 1. Creation of the simulation takes too much time. We are trying to catalog the postures and movements to reduce the creation time, is there any other way? 2. Regarding the use of simulation results After creating the simulation, we plan to use RULA analysis to analyze the posture and measure the work time to study how to reduce the work

Is there a universal manikin? (no country, no gender, no percentile)
Hello everyone, I am working on a project where we measure the body measurements of students and than transfer the measurements to a manikin. We have set the important anthropometry variables of the manikins (3.Acromial height standing, 4.Acrominon-radial length, 9.Ball of foot length, 10.Biacromail breadth, 32.Crotch height, standing, 56.Knee heigth midpatella, 72.Radial-stylion length, 81.Stature, 91.Trochanterion height, 98.Wrist center of grip length) to “manual” in the anthropometry tool
Defining Manikin anthropomorphic dimensions
Hello All, I have the applications "Ergonomy at Work" and "Ergonomics Evaluation". But it is not possible for me to change the dimensions of the human body with specific values, but only with editing body proportions. Human Interfaces dont save
Hello everyone, I create human interfaces, add them to a human interaction and link that to the maninkin via the human scenario. Then I save and close the 3DX at the end of the day. When I open the files the next day, the human interfaces are not saved. The human interaction is still there, but without the interfaces. Is this a bug? I have to reposition my human interfaces every time after opening. Best regards, Colin Grüger
RULA Parameters
Hello everyone, I have a question about the preferences of Ergonomic Analysis. I have not found any correlation between the angles of the RULA parameters and the final score of the RULA analysis. I would like to know which tool is affected by these angle changes. I had hoped to use these angles to adjust the RULA score to my Senario. I am currently working on an Ergnonics evaluation for a gravel bike. RULARULA ParametersRULA Analysis Thanks in advance! With kind regards Colin
Ergo with Gravity Arm
What is the best practice for using Ergonomics at Work App to simulate the the movement of a product using a gravity arm? My thoughts would be. The Gravity Arm needs to be a kinematic device with inverse kinematic to be controlled by the handle The manikin would then interact with the human interface on the gravity arm What I am unsure of it how the gravity arm then interacts with the product. Any advise and guidance would be fantastic

Ergo4all Technology: in a nutshell
Ergo4ll technology comes from the collaboration between Dassault Systèmes and Polytechnique Montréal, in Montréal, Québec, Canada. What does it do ? Ergo4All takes the posture generated automatically by the Smart Posturing Engine and information provided by the task (object, weight, task frequency, ...). It uses all those information to analyses the potential risk for the worker and provide suggestion to enhance the workstation. Want to learn more ?

Smart Posturing Engine: Under the hood
The main goal of the ErgonomicWorkplaceDesign (EWD) application is to assist 3D designers, ManufacturingEngineers and other users of 3DS solutions in quickly detecting risks related to Ergonomics in the workplace using a virtual reproduction of that workplace. To reach this goal, the EWD relies on the SmartPosturingEngine (SPE) technology, a set of algorithms that performs an autonomous posturing of a DigitalHumanModel (DHM) based on relatively few inputs from the users. The autonomous DHM

Process #2: Estimating grasp mode and location
Before solving the whole body posture, the SPE must know where to put the hand(s) on the object(s) and which Grasp mode to use (e.g. precision vs. power grasp). First, the bounding box (BB) of each the object will be computed. This BB will be used to label the different faces (front, back, left, right, bottom, top) of the objects, based on the chosen preposition. The grasp mode and location will first depend whether the object is a tool or an arbitrary part and if one or two hands are used on
Process #1: Manikin prepositioning
Preposition is essentially a 2D horizontal positioning of the DHM. It is defined by translating and rotating the pelvis root of the DHM in the horizontal (XY) plane of the global coordinate system. The main idea of prepositioning is to identify a good starting point for the DHM, given the object to Grasp and the surrounding environment. Prepositioning the DHM saves time when predicting the whole-body posture with the SPE, especially if the location of the previous task is far from the current

How far to place an object?
It is sometimes hard to have a first idea of how far to place an object in a 3D when designing workstations. For example, let say that you want to design a workbench. What should be the distance for the worker to access the tools? On one hand, we want enough work space on the table, but on the other hand, we want to be able to reach for the tools. The ISO 14738 standard provides us easily calculable optimal hand zone, which limit the risk of MSD. Using a 50 percentile American male (average
