Submission Guidelines for MODSIM MANIA 2.0
Your submission will be in the form of a detailed report with relevant screenshots or screen recordings.
Note: This is NOT a team competition. We expect submissions by individuals.
You have to submit the report in the following format:
- Abstract: Short description of the study that includes a short introduction, observations and conclusion and key takeaways of the study.
- Methodology: Force calculations, a parametric CAD model optimized through iterative FEA (PDS) simulations to enhance structural stability, material efficiency, and ergonomic performance. Should also include the mathematical approach to calculate loads. Make sure you do your "own" force calculations; the forces used in the webinar is just a representation.
- Observations: Including screen-shots, screen-recordings of the study with relevant graphics, tables
- Novelty: Design decisions that made your design stand out from the rest
- Conclusions: Your take on the best design and its justification for being the best in your analysis.
Note: If you want to supply CAD and Simulation models, do so by uploading them with the post or in 3DDRIVE and don’t forget to put the link with the post.
Judgement criteria for the report submission on Edu Students Community
Scientific approach for the simulation study
- Automation Capability of the model – the part of the design process that is automated using parametric constraints.
- Parametric Feature Complexity (count) – Number of parametric constraints, dependencies, and relationships in the model.
- Design Space Coverage – The extent to which different design variables and parameter ranges are explored
- Material Utilization Efficiency – How effectively the design minimizes material waste while maintaining performance.
- Stress/Strain Compliance – How well the design adheres to stress and strain limits.
Creativity of your design: We expect you to come up with designs that are aesthetic as well as validated using simulations and improved using Design Improvement Study
The design in the problem statement is a basic design. We expect you to make full use of the CAD and Simulation tools to create new designs that are aesthetic as well as functional— validated using structural simulation and the design improved by parametric design study.
