Phantom Vertices In Exported .obj File

I ran a simulation job which produced a .odb file. I then opened the .odb file in Abaqus to view the deformed mesh and I exported the deformed mesh in a .obj file. However, when I examine the .obj file, I've noticed that there are some phantom vertices (and edges) which are included in it. By phantom vertices, I mean vertices that are included in the .obj file but shouldn't exist. For example, the deformed mesh lives approximately in the region 0 < x < 40, 0 < y < 10, 0 < z < 400 but there are some vertices included in the .obj file which have x=-50! Are there any known bugs related to this issue?

If necessary, I can attach the .odb file and the .obj file produced by exporting.
