Hello,
After some days intensively searching the ABAQUS doc, we found that, ABAQUS doc states that:
Mention 1
' Abaqus/Standard provides an interaction integral method to compute the stress intensity factors directly for a crack under mixed-mode loading. This capability is available for linear isotropic and anisotropic materials. '
Reference: Abaqus > Analysis > Analysis Techniques > Special-Purpose Techniques > Fracture Mechanics > Contour Integral Evaluation
Mention 2:
' The interaction integral method is applicable to cracks in isotropic and anisotropic linear materials. '
Reference: Abaqus > Theory > Procedures > Fracture mechanics > Stress intensity factor extraction
There are 2 mentions on the interaction integral method. But can J-integral technique in ABAQUS be applied to anisotropic materials? I am afraid there are no documentation mentions on this.
It is suprising that such an extensive documentation has nothing mentioned on this. Is the J-integral approach valid for anisotropic materials in ABAQUS? If yes, please let me know and kindly please add it to the documentation.
Best Regards,
Yu.
