                                   As i am doing a axial crushing of a pipe with rigid impactor, i want to calculate Specific Energy Absorption (SEA)= Total energy absorbed/ mass of the column. I have a doubt to calculate Total energy absorbed,

Method 1) whether its strain energy of the model or Internal energy of the model or plastic dissipation energy?

Method 2) In one of the paper they have mentioned to calculate Total energy absorbed= area under the load vs displacement graph. 

               So we have any option to calculate Area under the curve Load vs Displacement in Abaqus or in Excel?
