Abaqus - Tips for non-convergence of soil/concrete plasticity in Abaqus

Hello everyone!

I know what to do when there are convergence issues and "The plasticity/creep/connector friction algorithm did not converge at x points" messages in the case of regular metal plasticity in Abaqus. Extrapolating the model (adding hardening / providing more data points) usually helps. But what about non-convergence and the same messages occurring in the case of Mohr-Coulomb or Drucker-Prager plasticity? I’m talking about situations when these plasticity models can be identified as sources of convergence issues. One cannot simply extrapolate their data since they are defined by parameters instead of stress-plastic strain pairs. And their parameters are usually taken from some specifications so they can’t be changed freely. Assuming that boundary conditions, loads and other settings are correct, what would you try in such cases to achieve convergence apart from reducing the increment size?
