I've got a problem.  I cut out shapes in steel with a 'Swiftcut' plasma profiling machine.  I draw the shape (it can be anything) load it into the machine and it cuts out that shape... simple.

A pal has asked me to cut out a drawing he's got. It's an outline of the uk. 

He's sent me a dxf file, and I've tried to cut it, but the machine won't cut. It seems to think the drawing is lots of dots (i think) rather than a continuous line (which it needs in order to cut)

If I zoom in on the line (the outline of the uk shape) then what I see are thousands of little blue squares....

I've tried using Pedit/Multiple/join to form one continuous polyline, but the little blue boxes are still there. I wonder if that's the problem.

I'm sorry this is a bit of a messy question, but perhaps someone can help? Any assistance much appreciated.
