I have just had to uninstall and re-install DS.  I know you have to do that every so often.  I thought the last time I did it that DS retained my personal settings.  Previously, you could only retain them if you donned overalls, grasped a monkey wrench, and delved under the hood to salvage some deep buried file.  It looked as if we might have been saved that hassle.  However, my re-installed version does not seem to have retained settings this time.  I suspect that means they have been erased.  Can anyone confirm whether that is likely to be the case?  If so, can someone also remind me how to make sure this does not happen next time?
