Having searched the iQuestions this seems to have been an issue in the past but there does not seem to be an answer, however since the questions were fairly old, perhaps someone might know how to fix the issue with the latest version of Draftsight.

In the other CAD packages I have used the scroll wheel/middle button is used for the Zoom function. Operating the wheel will Zoom In or Out depending on the direction the wheel is moved. Double Clicking the wheel cause a Zoom Extents. And clicking and holding the wheel should start the pan command.

The Zoom In/Out works as expected, the double click works as expected, but the click and hold doesn't. It seems to try and pan while also Zooming In. I have several installations using the 32 and 64 bit versions on different PC's, all under Windows 7, and they all react the same so it would appear to be a set up problem or a software bug.

Any ideas how to fix this?
