Hello all,
We having been using DraftSight for a few years in our office as a replacement for AutoCAD LT. It has been interesting but does work.
The one major hurdle for us was the lack of a multi-drawing publish function to produce a multi-page file from many *.dwg files. We ended up writing a little MS-DOS batch script to help us out in that regard and while it is a bit slow, it works very well. Run in a folder and it opens every *.DWG with a custom script that goes through the paces of exporting the file as a PDF. Like I said, it;s slow but it works.
Sadly with the 1.4 update this no longer works due to the changes made to the export pdf command. The dialog box it pops up can no longer be run as command line leaving us with a large problem. Either never update to 1.4 or any other version after, or shell out to get AutoCAD for our office again.
:_Questions_:
Is there a way to access the old style of export PDF in 1.4?
Can anyone suggest another option using the command line ?( ie Scriptable )
Does anyone have any cheap licenses for Autocad LT they are willing to part with? ( legal ones of course )
I am using the following:
Windows 7 Pro x64
Quad core AMD
8GB RAM
300GB HDD
ETC, ETC, it all works fine save for the changes made to exportpdf in 1.4
