I have  DS 2017 on my work station and DS 2018 (free for now) on my laptop.  Both are Windows 10.  

The 2017 allowed me to trace a jpg with the esnap on and allowed window select within the edges of the jpg insert (still works on the workstation 2017).  The DS 2018 will not allow me to trace unless the ESnap is off - nor does it allow for window selects within in the boundaries of the jpg as the select chooses on the jpg.
