DS V1R4 on Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit
I am totally new to DS, though I am experienced in AutoCAD. My first post on this forum.
My first attempt was to open an existing drawing. It had images attached. The reference to the windows showed as text to the path, but no images. The path in the properties window is found and the status reads "loaded". It does not load at start nor does it reload. If I right-click and select "open" the file opens in the default viewer (Windows viewer)
If I try to attach this or a totally new other tif file I get the message "invalid or unsopported image file"
Googling I found the same in the SolidWorksForum, link here
Sometimes -not yet sure what makes the warning pop up - there seems to be a related(?) warning message, titled "DraftSight.exe - The entry point not found" and in the error description box (I am translating because the message is in greek) "Entry point ................. to procedure could not be found in the library of dynamic linking QtCore4.dll."
I tried some other existing files with attached xrefs (Created by AutoCAD). Most the attachments loaded ok but some didn't and caused the same message. The specific two attachments had file names in Greek but that should be ok with Unicode (it is a french program after all...). Even when I renamed the attachments to English, even when I totally detached and cleaned (purged) the file opens with DraftSight (though sometimes the message pops up.... When saved and opened with AutoCAD or DwgTrueView the files appear to have two errors and crash. I suspect it is the same 2 attachment issues that show up as errors
Researching some more I found that QtCore4.dll is a dll library file and found it in the DraftSight subfolders (C:\\Program Files\\Dassault Systemes\\DraftSight\\bin\\QtCore4.dll).
Replacing it with another version off the www and the program doesn't work at all. Restore the original by Dassault and the program has faults...
