I am running opensuse 13.2 on an Optimus laptop (Alienware M17X4) with kernel 3.16.7-29-desktop (opensuse 13.2 and KDE). The graphics card is an nvidia GTX 675M

1st Draftsight can not open it's interface window unless it is started with the nvidia card (not a problem but an indication that is amiss)

2nd (main problem) the graphics window (small black area) inside the (big) interface window can not be resized: "dead screen" area is patched around it if the it's border is dragged to enlarge it.

Any ideas?
