With 2019 Pro, when I hover ANYWHERE over an inserted image, it highlights or preselects it. This is a problem because now you can't make a selection box around items above an image. If I try to drag a box around items I've drawn over the image (starting from inside the image boundary) it will only select the image. That means I have to individually select every line segment each time I want to move them. That is completely impractical. The way it should work (and the way it worked nicely in the free version) is the image should preselect only when you hover over its border. That's how it works in autocad or intellicad or others.
So my productivity sucks now and I need to know if others with a newer machine and Windows10 experience the same? Mine is win7 but I'm not convinced that's the problem. I need to know if this is baked into the software or if I buy a new machine will it fix it. I have to find a solution because I do drawings over inserted images daily.
To do the test, just insert an image and see if you can left or right drag a selection box anywhere inside its boundary. If its like mine it will not create a box unless you start from outside the image.
