I often used to take 2D sketch profiles in Draftsight, copy them with a reference point to the clipboard, and then paste them into a Solidworks

sketch. Fully define it and then extrude it.

The copy and paste feature does not work now that I have updated Draftsight to V1R4.

I don't want to revert to AutoCAD, but I know it works, which makes no sense.
