Hello,
I am working with the 2025 version of Abaqus to model wear. I’m using the Interaction Property Manager to define the wear rate and assigning it to two shell surfaces. My intention in using shell elements is to reduce the number of nodes due to the 1,000-node limit in the student version.
When I run the simulation, I get the following error:
*Wear property "wear" is assigned to one or more structural (or rigid) element faces in general contact. Wear evolution on such faces requires activating a non-default option on wear surface properties.
However, when I read the documentation in the User Assistance, it doesn’t explain how to resolve this error.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
