Viscoelastic - Frequency dependent stiffness

Dear 3Ds,

1. In order to simulate a frequency dependent spring, I am substituting a spring with a bar with a Viscoelastic material that has frequency dependent damping and stiffness.

I am using a simple clamped bar model of which I only care about the axial behaviour. I tried beam elements as well as truss elements, but I can't seem to get any actual frequency dependent damping or stiffness added to the response.

I don't have any specific spectrum in mind, so I tried small and large values for omega k*/g*/real/imag., but to no avail.

I have added my bar model with beam elements, with and without Viscoelasticity.

2. As far as my understanding goes about omega k*/g*/real/imag., I can create my own Dynamic Modulus of a frequency dependent stiffness (no damping) by creating a tabular of 'omega k* real' values. So it basically describes the spectrum of the stiffness.

Please let me know if I am correct at Point 2. Also I need help to find out how to get frequency dependent response from Point 1.

Thank you in advance and kind regards,
