1. Flexible Multibody Simulation
SIMULIA Simpack is a Multibody Simulation (MBS) software for dynamic analysis of mechanical systems. Multibody Simulation allows an analyst to study the kinematic behavior of a system or to identify forces acting between two components at a much lower computational cost than a Finite Element Analysis. Flexible Multibody Simulation is an elegant approach that combines the benefits of the traditional MBS approach with the high fidelity provided by the Finite Element method. This document provides an overview of model reduction techniques, preparation of FE model, types of couplings, substructure generation steps, quality check of FBI files, and the best solver settings suitable for Flexible Multibody Simulation. Target Audience: Analysts, Consultants and Tech Support.
2. Using the Physics Simulation Adapter in Process Apps
The Physics Simulation adapter allows the user to execute the simulation object in the Process Composer applications. Using this adapter, the user can change the input parameters such as dimensions, load, and so on, and execute the simulation object to update the result parameters. This adapter gives an option to create new branches of the original simulation object for each run. This document gives an overview of the Physics Simulation adapter and focuses on the following points: • Advantages of mode selection for the execution • Branching of the Simulation Object and its Lifecycle • Best practices for configuring the adapter • Best practices to troubleshoot the adapter related issues Target Audience: Simulation Expert, Method Developer.
3. Discover, Explore and Generate Designs Using the Design Exploration App
Design Exploration applications (apps) help the Simulation Analyst to explore multiple alternatives across a range of operating scenarios that enables optimal design selection using powerful decision-making tools. Parametric Design Study Essentials and Parametric Design Study applications enable the Simulation Analyst to define and perform studies that explore alternative designs using parametric optimization methods. The Simulation Analyst builds these studies using the applications packaged with the Structural Generative Engineer (OPZ) role on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. This best practice document focuses on and illustrates the various design exploration studies available in the Design Exploration application. Target Audience: Simulation Analysts.
4. Handling CAD Changes in Physics Simulation Using Links and Relations
Traditionally modeling was carried out using different tools, which led to an inconsistent relation between the designer and the analyst. Dassault Systèmes modeled the form & fit in a set of tools, and modeled function in another set of tools. The 3DEXPERIENCE platform provides a handful of choices in terms of mechanisms available to control and handle change. The right choice of the mechanism is dependent on variables such as organization size, how the designers (CAD team) and analysts (CAE team) communicate, size of the models, familiarity and willingness from the designer to handle finite element representations (FEM reps), and so on. The methodology discussed in this document is better suited for relatively smaller organizations that have strong communication between the designer and analyst. Target Audience: Customers using SIMULIA apps and Technical Support Engineers.
5. 3DEXPERIENCE Connector for CST Usage Guidelines
Connector for CST combines the power of CST Studio Suite with data management and collaborative tools of the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. The scope of this document is to provide the guidelines for usage of Connector for CST to the new users. This document is a good read along with the other Connector for CST training materials available in the 3DEXPERIENCE University for those who are getting started with 3DEXPERIENCE Connector for CST. It also explains some of the basic options available in the connector that the user should keep in mind when importing the CAD model from the 3DEXPERIENCE platform to the CST Studio Suite. Additionally, it provides information about the usage of CST adapter in the 3DEXPERIENCE Optimization Process Composer. Target Audience: Electromagnetics Analyst, Electromagnetics Engineer, Method Developer |
