Titagarh Firema: Comfort Analysis of the Vinci Intercity Coach using Flexible Multibody Systems Simulation in Simpack (acc. EN 12299) | RUM 2023 EuroMed Italy

We are pleased to share with you the presentation titled "Comfort Analysis of the Vinci Intercity Coach using Flexible Multibody Systems Simulation in Simpack (acc. EN 12299)", which Alessandro BON and Giorgio GALEAZZO from Titagarh Firema presented at the SIMULIA Regional User Meeting EuroMed – Italy in Modena on June 20, 2023.

Abstract:

Comfort Analysis of the Vinci Intercity Coach using Flexible Multibody Systems Simulation in Simpack (acc. EN 12299)

This multibody systems simulation activity aims to evaluate the VINCI high-comfort passenger coach concept for day and night services. To verify the effectiveness of the solutions adopted and to freeze the main bogie characteristics, the Simpack tool for flexible bodies has been used. The VINCI coach is designed for speeds of up to 200 km/h and is equipped with a bogie with secondary pneumatic suspension. In particular, the aim is to verify that the coach is able to provide the highest level of comfort in accordance with EN 12299. One of the key elements of the analysis is the definition of the vehicle characteristics to ensure that the critical speeds are sufficiently far from the maximum design speed, even without using anti-yaw dampers. The result of this simulation campaign is the subject of this presentation.
