Dassault Systèmes is committed to achieving a sustainable planet and supports wind turbine OEMs and suppliers across the globe with a wide range of CAE solutions.

In order to predict loading over a wind turbine’s lifespan, thousands of multibody system (MBS) simulations are required. A new method enables rotor blades from FEA to be imported directly into MBS, eliminating the need for conversion to equivalent beam models. This new method not only accurately predicts large deformations with bend-twist coupling, but also is extremely efficient and thus suitable for Load Calculations.

 

This SIMULIA Tech Talk will cover the motivation, method and validation of this new solution for modeling rotor blades within wind turbine simulations.
