New Tutorial: Using Sensors to Capture Key Simulation Results

As part of the R2025x FD01 user assistance, SIMULIA R&D developed a 3DEXPERIENCE tutorial that teaches you how to apply various types of sensors to a simulation model, read their values, and interpret the results. The types of sensors that you apply to the simulation model include field, history, mass, and buckle mode sensors.

The simulation model used in this tutorial is a metallic canopy that must withstand heavy loading from snowfall.

👉 To try this example for yourself, see Tutorial: Using Sensors to Capture Key Simulation Results.

I have many colleagues to thank for the creation of this tutorial. Thanks to @MB for the initial CAD work and to @CC for the extensive analysis and help while creating the workflow. Thank you to @AS for thoroughly testing the scenario. Last but not least, a very special thanks to @BH and @CH for the extra effort leading up to the release.

The 3DEXPERIENCE Simulation Examples Team would like to hear your ideas for new examples. The team gives preference to ideas that align with SIMULIA business goals and IPEs, but don't let that stop you from sharing your ideas. The team also welcomes feedback on any of its existing examples.
