New 3DEXPERIENCE Tutorials: Volume Extraction for Fluid Flow Simulations

As part of the R2025x FD03 user assistance, SIMULIA R&D created a series of 3DEXPERIENCE tutorials that teach you different methods of extracting volumes for use in fluid simulations. In these tutorials, you learn how to extract interior, exterior, and conformal volumes. To perform the volume extraction for a fluids simulation you use the following apps:

  • Geometry Idealization Essentials 
  • Fluid Scenario Creation 

While completing these tutorials, you learn how to extract an interior volume to represent the fluid volume inside of a bioreactor and how to extract an exterior volume to represent the fluid volume outside of a drone. You also learn how to use a conformal volume extraction to extract interior and solid volumes from a pipe junction assembly. Each of these methods produce volumes that can be used to define your simulation.

You can use what you learn in these tutorials to inform volume extraction technique in your own fluid flow simulations.
