New 3DEXPERIENCE Tutorial: Refining a Mesh to Achieve Accurate Results

As part of the R2025x GA user assistance, SIMULIA R&D created a 3DEXPERIENCE tutorial that illustrates how to define contact interactions while illustrating the importance of mesh density in achieving accurate results. In this particular tutorial, the model consists of a channel with a gap that gets progressively wider. Balls of different colors roll along the channel and the expected behavior is that each ball drops into the box of the same color. Your objective is to specify a sufficiently high mesh density to represent the geometries coming into contact accurately.

To complete this example yourself, you must have access to the Motion Analyst, Suspension Analyst app, or Motion Engineer app. Once you have access to one of these apps, see Refining a Mesh to Achieve Accurate Results to get started.

The 3DEXPERIENCE Simulation Examples Team would like to hear your ideas for new examples. If you have an idea, please leave a comment below so that the team can contact you. The team also welcomes feedback on any of its existing examples.
