New 3DEXPERIENCE Examples for Plastic Injection Simulation

Two new simulation examples entitled “Evaluation of Sink Marks for a Monitor Bezel” and “Plastic Injection Simulation of a Medical Cap with a Mold Insert” are available with the R2025x FD02 release of the User Assistance.

In the first example, Evaluation of Sink Marks for a Monitor Bezel, you evaluate two designs of a monitor bezel to determine which design minimizes the formation of sink marks on the bezel's surfaces. You define and run two plastic injection simulations, one for the original design and another for a modified design. Then, you compare the sink marks from the two simulations, and select the best design for production.

In the second example, Plastic Injection Simulation of a Medical Cap with a Mold Insert, you learn how to improve heat dissipation for a plastic part in a mold by incorporating a mold insert and internal cooling channels. The integration of thermally conductive mold inserts in plastic manufacturing reduces warpage, lowers residual stresses, and helps prevent defects during part ejection.

The 3DEXPERIENCE Simulation Examples team would like to hear your ideas for new examples. If you have a workflow idea that aligns with our business goals and IPEs, in addition to an IP-free 3D XML model (if applicable), please leave a comment so the team can contact you. The team also welcomes feedback on any of its existing simulation examples.
