New 3DEXPERIENCE Example: Tire Footprint Analysis

In the R2026x FD01 release of the user assistance, SIMULIA R&D delivered a new 3DEXPERIENCE example entitled Tire Footprint Analysis

In this example, you are provided a CAD model for the cross-section of a tire. You must define and run a structural simulation to analyze the tire’s footprint on a flat surface (for example, a road), among other types of results. Specifically, you learn how to:

  • Define the tire’s cross-sectional model, including its finite element model.

  • Define an analysis case for the tire’s cross-sectional model to mimic its inflated state.

  • Analyze the rebar force and displacements in this inflated state.

  • Generate a full 3D tire model based on the tire’s cross-sectional model.

  • Define an analysis case for the full 3D tire model to mimic its contact with a flat surface.

  • Analyze the contact pressure (that is, the footprint), stress, and displacement in this state of contact with the flat surface.

You must have access to the following apps to complete this example:

  • Mechanical Scenario Creation

  • Model Assembly Design

  • Physics Results Explorer

  • Structural Model Creation
