SIMULIA R&D has a great electromagnetics-related simulation example to share with you as part of the R2024x FD01 release. In this example, titled Signal Interference Surrounding a Cell Tower, you learn how to use the 3DEXPERIENCE platform to evaluate the electromagnetic interference between antennas mounted on a cell tower in an effort to determine the best locations for them. The cell tower (turned on its side) and the two types of antennas are shown below. The green glyphs represent the potential locations for these antennas.
You first perform a simple analysis (that uses ideal antennas to save time) of the interference for different antenna placement strategies and analyze the results. Subsequently, you perform a more detailed analysis (that uses physical antennas to improve accuracy) of the interference for those strategies and analyze the results. At the end of this example, you use the results to decide which antenna placement strategy results in the lowest interference level between the antennas.
By completing this simulation example, we hope to cement what you currently know about the 3DEXPERIENCE platform while challenging you to learn more about running simulations using the Antenna Placement app.
To complete this example yourself, see Signal Interference Surrounding a Cell Tower.
Thank you to @CVfor helping me develop this example so that we could deliver it to all of you.
