As part of the R2024x FD04 release, SIMULIA R&D created another 3DEXPERIENCE example just for you. This example illustrates how to model fluid flow through a centrifugal pump (that is, a turbomachinery device) to analyze its performance. A centrifugal pump converts mechanical power to hydraulic power, increasing the fluid pressure to push the fluid across a distance. During this process, energy efficiency is paramount. In this example, you define and run a simulation to generate a performance curve for a centrifugal pump that rotates at 1700 RPM while pushing 17 liters of water per second. While defining the simulation, you learn how to create abstraction shapes to streamline your simulation setup.
This example includes both 3DEXPERIENCE native geometry and SOLIDWORKS geometry so that you can choose to complete this example starting with your preferred CAD package.
To complete this example yourself, you must have access to the Fluid Scenario Creation and Geometry Idealization Essentials apps. After you have access to these apps, see Performance Analysis of a Centrifugal Pump to get started.
Thank you to @AJand @HCfor their effort in making this example come to life.
