As part of the R2025x FD03 User Assistance, SIMULIA R&D created a new 3DEXPERIENCE example that teaches you how to perform an injection molding simulation of a thermoset rubber gasket to assess the gasket’s curing state.
Gaskets designed as seals are often made from thermosets, a class of materials distinct from thermoplastics. Unlike thermoplastics, thermosets undergo an irreversible chemical curing process, typically catalyzed by heat, radiation, or chemical additives.
The simulation uses the Plastic Injection app.
