SIMULIA R&D has created another simulation example to share with you as part of the R2024x FD03 release.
This example guides you through using the 3DEXPERIENCE platform to create and perform a design improvement study using the Parametric Design Study app. By completing this example, you learn how to:
- Sketch a part, and define parameters that control the dimensions of the part.
- Create a structural simulation that loads the part, and define parameters that extract the mass, maximum displacement, and maximum stress from the results.
- Create a design improvement study that explores changes in the geometry of a part and the resulting change in its behavior.
- Review the results of a design improvement study.
- Explore alternatives, and search for the best design.
This example is similar to another example, Design of Experiments Simulation Process for a Loaded Cantilever Beam. This example demonstrates the use of the Parametric Design Study app to explore the design space and Physics Results Explorer to explore the results, whereas the other example demonstrates the use of Optimization Process Composer, Performance Study, and Results Analytics to perform similar tasks.
In earlier releases, the other example was titled "Design of Experiments for a Loaded Cantilever Beam." The title was changed to distinguish that example from this new example.
To try this example for yourself, see Design Improvement Study for a Loaded Cantilever Beam
