Created using SIMULIA V6 R2013
Surface partitions are performed on a solid part to facilitate localized application of loads and boundary conditions. In this video, you will learn how to partition a surface in V6.
Workflow
The workflow explaining the process of partitioning a surface in V6 is illustrated below:
1) The profile of the surface that will aid in creating the partition is sketched.
2) The surface which will be used in the partition process is generated using the Fill tool. The sketch created in step 1 is set as the outer boundary and the hole with the smaller diameter of the cylinder is set as the inner boundary.
3) Using the Sew surface tool, the previously created surface is sewed into cylinder thereby creating a single part.
Annotated Video
The following demonstration includes
- Sketching the profile of the partition (0:07 - 1:18)
- Creating the partition surface (1:18 - 2:38)
- Creating the partition (2:38 - 4:14)
