e-Learning: Octree Tetrahedron meshing technique in V6

A SIMULIA e-Learning Resource

Created using SIMULIA V6 R2013

The Octree Tetrahedron mesher allows you to manually mesh solid geometries with tetrahedrons in V6. It can be found in the Advanced Meshing workbench of SIMULIA V6.This tool is commonly used in ExSight since DesignSight generates the mesh automatically. To create an Octree Tetrahedron mesh, you need to specify the following:

1. Element type: Linear / Parabolic

2. Global element size

3. Maximum gap between the mesh and the geometry (Absolute sag).

4. The ratio between the local absolute sag and the length of the local mesh edge (Proportional sag).

The following demonstration includes:

-Creating an Octree Tetrahedron mesh (0:00-3:30)

-Defining Local specifications (3:30-6:00)

-Mesh quality analysis (6:00-8:00).
