This is case study of battery cell homogenization with anisotropic crushable foam plasticity model, which is available from Abaqus 2022 Hot Fix 1.

To predict thermal-runaway of battery cell from mechanical loading, deformation and failure of jelly-roll needs to be accurately modeled. However, detailed modeling of jelly-roll is too expensive for large scale models like EV crash or battery pack impact. The slides include battery cell homogenization procedure with Abaqus and Isight.
