A new simulation example titled, Explicit Dynamic Analysis of a Pillar Collapse, is available on help.3ds.com as part of the R2023x FD02 release. In this example, you learn how to define and run a structural simulation in which you crush a pillar at a high velocity. This scenario mimics a sudden, dynamic event, so the app solves it using the Abaqus Explicit solver. After you run the simulation, you visualize and analyze the damage that the pillar incurs from the collapse. Based on these results, you change a few properties of the pillar’s material, and you rerun the simulation to determine whether the modified material performs any better than the original material.
By completing this simulation example, SIMULIA R&D hopes to cement what you currently know about the 3DEXPERIENCE platform while challenging you to learn more about running simulations that use these apps:
- Structural Model Creation
- Mechanical Scenario Creation
- Model Assembly Design
- Physics Results Explorer
To complete this example yourself, see Explicit Dynamic Analysis of a Pillar Collapse.
