I was catching up on some xDesign updates from the last few functional deliveries and hotfixes, and I realized that the Learning Assistant was staying inside the window, so I thought I would check out some tutorials this weekend.
I've provided some trainings on Simulation Xpress for SOLIDWORKS Premium, but this was my first time using Design Guidance in xDesign. It is similar tool, but you can also add torque loads, which Sim Xpress does not.
These are just some screenshots from the tool tutorial, but what I love is that:
1) I did this simulation study on my Chromebook
2) We can use this data and outputs to automatically create loft-able profiles in xDesign to create a solid or use the mesh generated in xShape to sculpt geometry which will fit the load.
The sketches that come out are not perfect and could use some additional constraints, but having these simulation tools is very interesting, especially as someone interested in generative design (but who is also bad at physics 😹).
