An umbilic torus is a really interesting 3 dimensional object which has one edge and one side, though it doesn't appear that way at first glance. In the video below I demonstrate how you can easily create a reasonable facsimile of one in 3DEXPERIENCE 2014x. Those of you good with math may quickly realize this isn't a true umbilic torus, just a good artistic representation.
You can apply the same technique to other types of cross sections. For example, you can use a square cross section. In that case, you would want to perform rotations of 90 degrees or 270 degrees, but not 180! I'll leave it to you to play with and see why.
